Defending champions England have named their squad for September’s European Pickleball Championship in Rome.
Captains Thaddea Lock (18+) and Richard Love (50+) had already been confirmed, and now the full line-up has been confirmed as follows:
Women 18+: Thaddea Lock, Molly O’Donoghue, Mollie Knaggs, Katie Morris
Men 18+: James Chaudry, Louis Laville, Freddie Powell, Ben Cawston
Women 50+: Anna Linton, Claire Bourgoin, Kirsty Gray, Helen Kenna
Men 50+: Richard Love, Rupert Robinson, David Youngs, Nathan Hill
The squad is bigger this year due to the introduction of singles categories. Pickleball England’s selectors were also quick to point out that some of last year’s successful players were unavailable this year, meaning that some different faces have been given their opportunity.
The event starts on 18th September and runs till the 21st at the famous Foro Italico.
England won the tournament last year ahead of silver medallists Spain and bronze medallists Italy.
