A group of 30 pickleball players from the East of England headed out to Nepal for the fourth time – promoting the sports in schools and sports clubs there in a jam-packed 13-day trip.
They had the chance to do a spot of sightseeing – the Golden Triangle of The Kathmandu Valley, the jungle area of Chitwan and Pokhara in the Annapurna region – as well as playing two friendly tournaments in Kathmandu. There, they met up with the organisers of Pickleball Nepal and Support Nepal UK and handed over donations of pickleball paddles, T-shirts and balls plus badminton rackets for a local initiative.

Cambridge Pickleball Club sponsor a child’s education at the Kumudini Homes School in Pokhara, raising the fees from their charity tournaments throughout the year, and visited the school to give the sports teachers more information about pickleball and the pupils a chance to learn to play.
The group will be visiting again at the end of February 2027 so if any other pickleballers are interested in visiting Nepal and playing pickleball on top of the world, contact Karyn, cambridgepickleball@outlook.com.
