Fourth English Nationals set for record-breaking participation

The 2024 English Nationals are set to be the biggest and best yet – with an amazing number of players signed up.

Registration has now closed for the event, which takes place in Bolton from Thursday 31 October, and will be doubles-only.

An incredible 1,111 competitors are registered to take part – 468 female, 643 male.

That’s almost double last year’s registration tally of 696.

And most will be competing in more than one event, with the schedule running as follows:

Thursday: Mixed doubles 50+
Friday: Gender doubles 50+
Saturday: Gender doubles 50-
Sunday: Mixed doubles 50-

Next year’s English Nationals may yet be even bigger, with Pickleball England chair Karen Mitchell telling Pickleball52 recently that they are considering a round of regional qualifications to provide for the increasing number of players – as well as a singles-specialist event.
