The West Midlands hosted a hybrid team tournament at the weekend, bringing disabled and non-disabled players together in a first-of-its-kind event.
The brand new Courtside Pickleball Club in Stourbridge was the venue for the event where 12 disabled people, including some retired Paralympians, partnered with non-disabled players for a competition – with each team consisting of two adaptive players, who either play standing or in a wheelchair, and two non-disabled players.
They garnered points for matches throughout the day in the hybrid doubles (1 x adaptive player and 1 x non-disabled player), adaptive doubles (2 x adaptive players) and doubles (2 x non-disabled players).
