Jack MacGregor’s to-do list for the rest of 2025

Jack MacGregor hadn’t heard about the PicklePad until a friend got a court there.

“There’s not many places like that around,” he says. Now he’s taking up what he describes as “a cool opportunity” to be their latest ambassador, promoting what they can offer to players in Dorset and further afield.

“The more people that know, the bigger it can be – it’s an amazing facility,” he says.

With a background in racquet sports, Jack started to play pickleball two and a half years ago, alongside his mum; the two of them enjoyed the fact it was a sport they could do together.

“Every time I played I felt I got a lot better!” he says.

And he is now one of the top young players in the country, about to start competing in the Premier Pickleball League for Pure Pickleball.

“This year I got picked second in the draft, so that was amazing,” he enthuses.

On his to-do list for the rest of the year are two simple items: “Keep playing, keep getting better.”

He elaborates: “There are some fun tournaments coming up, including the ONE Pickleball championships in July and the English OPEN in August, then the new PPL season – I want to have a good start there – then there are the Nationals.”

But he’ll also be heading back to his home base.

“With the PicklePad I’ll be there full-time in the summer, hosting lots of fun events and getting more people in the area there and playing more pickleball!”
