Congratulations to Steph Grace and Karyn Duggan and all at Saffron Walden Area Pickleball, who are continuing their mighty fundraising efforts to fight women’s and men’s cancers.
Most recently they raised over £4,000 by hosting a gender doubles pickleball tournament at Wodson Park, Ware, Hertfordshire – under the quirky name Pickleboobs & Balls.
Over 100 players took part, with the tournament organised so that everyone has a different partner in every round. It meant anyone can enter individually and it encourages players to get to know others in the pickleball community.

It was all rounded off with afternoon tea and an insightful talk by Errol McKellar from the Errol McKellar Foundation, talking about his own journey with prostate cancer.
The money raised earlier in the month will be shared equally between Breast Cancer Now, Prostate Cancer UK, ACT Cancer Unit Fund at Addenbrookes Hospital and The Errol McKellar Foundation.
This year was the third edition of the tournament, with more than £12,000 raised overall – and an even bigger and better event is expected in 2026!
