With over 2,700 entrants already registered for this summer’s English OPEN, the details of a special team event have been announced.
The Unity Cup is intended to take the event back to pickleball’s roots: open, fun, intergenerational play.
Players will be drafted to either Team EDGE or Team PULSE, and will then have a mix of games which could include split age, hybrid – and at least one game where all four participants will be using a wooden paddle.
Pickleball England are hoping the 2026 English OPEN will be the biggest and best yet, in its new home of Birmingham NEC. Tuesday’s senior gender doubles event is already almost at capacity.
