Pickleball England have announced that the appointment of Kelly Dawson as the head referee co-ordinator.
“I feel incredibly honoured and proud to be appointed as head referee coordinator for Pickleball England, and I’m grateful for the trust the Board has placed in me,” Kelly told Pickleball 52.
“I’m excited to help develop the referee presence and tournaments and support the team in upholding the highest standards across the game.”
Her appointment follows the work she put into referee coordination across last year’s English OPEN and Nationals – with Pickleball England praising “her leadership, initiative, and dedication”.
The new role includes coordination of referees worldwide interested in officiating at the English OPEN, developing and managing referee shift plans for tournaments, establishing a centre of excellence for referee coordination, and mentoring aspiring referee coordinators looking to expand their experience and credentials.
