SHARP players to stage charity pickleball marathon

St Albans and Harpenden Pickleball Group are staging a charity marathon event this weekend – all to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK and the Chilterns Neuro Centre.

Eighteen keen players will be on court for nine hours in their fundraising efforts.

And they have already made an incredible £10,000 in online donations, with a further £1,500 in offline pledges and donations.

Around 150,000 people in the UK live with Parkinson’s, a progressive neurological condition causing symptoms like tremors, stiffness, and problems with mobility and other aspects of daily living. No cure exists, but Parkinson’s UK provides extensive support and funds research for new treatments.

The Chilterns Neuro Centre supports people living with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and stroke survivors. The Centre offers a number of life changing and supportive therapies and treatments which empower people with these neurological conditions to live life to the full.
