SHARP raise over £15,000 for charity

Congratulations to all at St Albans and Harpenden Pickleball Group for raising an incredible £15,000 for Parkinson’s UK and the Chilterns Neuro Centre through their pickleball marathon.

Their dedicated players were on court for nine hours in their fundraising efforts – with the local radio station also in attendance to chronicle their feats.

And there were smiles on their faces throughout – right up to when organiser Cathy rang the bell to mark the end of the day!

Around 150,000 people in the UK live with Parkinson’s, a progressive neurological condition causing symptoms like tremors, stiffness, and problems with mobility and other aspects of daily living. No cure exists, but Parkinson’s UK provides extensive support and funds research for new treatments.

The Chilterns Neuro Centre supports people living with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and stroke survivors. The Centre offers a number of life changing and supportive therapies and treatments which empower people with these neurological conditions to live life to the full.

  1. Congratulations to the SHARP players on this wonderful fundraising total. We know that there are many pickleball players that have Parkinsons and playing gives them some respite from their symptoms. I am sure they will be thrilled that their chosen sport has raised this sum.
